Here's a video of Tsterner trying to 1up Jeremy for the rpm war thanks to another junk injection pump (#10 for this year! ) He chickened out around 7150 so Jeremy's still the leader! :D

Did that start to run away on him at the end??

did a fine job of running away before i got it killed it went to 7170rpm before i got it shut down. i was gunnin for straley but the flames scared me.

for once i agree with sleddy.

Mani wish i had a barn full of old JD pumps right now :D

That would be as good as microsoft stock in the 90's

Travis

i know a few guys with several jd pumps around, but they wont come off of them. they say their tractors run better with them still attached. talk about selfish.

my moms old 85 740 volvo I6 turbo diesel would do 5k stock (i think i saw in a service book the governer setting was 5300), and roll coal while doing it :D and my 87 300sdl would do 5k but didn't seem to be that spunky due to the lard butt car it was bolted to

if my old 85 MB 300D with 240k miles bone stock (which I paid $2500 for) will wind to 4500 before hitting top gear on my nightly ( I get off work at 0130 hrs) commute out of town, I see no reason that 7700 on a six banger with a whole lot of work is not attainable.....

.

I don't know where my truck went to, but I know I was WOT at 5,000rpm when I shifted from 3rd to neutral (yah, the 3-4 shift is a switch, not a shift with the shifter ya dummy).

Don't know how high it went, but, it sounded like a . 049 cox airplane, LOL.

As far as RPM limit, I think there will be a practical limit reached soon, just like F1 and Nascar. Sure our diesel could spin 10k rpm, but, do we need it?

I'm with Jim on this one. Why do these motors sound so at home at 6k+?

Correct me if im wrong

If we can balence the crank "PEFERCTLY" RPM is unlimited correct??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

When i first reached 4000rpm i thought it sounded good.

now that ive heard 6000 boy do they sound awesome!!!

From what I've been told from a few different people that do balance work, there is not enough room within the block to properly counter balance the crank but can get it close.

isn't diesel fuel by nature a slow burning fuel? With a topfuel car that the motor is spinning so fast that the flame isn't done burning as it's being pushed out the exhaust.

won't the fuel be a limitation at some RPM?

The cummins is a inline 6 therefore nurtral ballanced , you dont use bob weights to ballance the crank. in my experance the cummins rods are with in 5 grams in a matched set, 2480 apeice . the best ballance shop I know of is Ed hills old crew cheif Al Weiss 940 691 1011

Hey Jarrord, I invite you to come over and read my tach. When you see my settings you will see you what can and cant be done. If you want some Jerrod, come and get sum. Not too many are doing what we have been doing/trying to do for 2 yrs. Bring your 3855 truck to run with mine.

Since we are in the Banter Forum, Jerrod do you even have a truck that will run w/ Jeremy's?

I met Jeremy a couple of times and while I do think pullers B. S. a little bit I don't think he is spreadin manure about this one.

Wow guys just a bored puller waiting for some rules to do some work with. I cant even get my GUS to work so dont worry about me having a truck that will even run let alone run with Straley's.

Damn :--) Some people need to chill out. I think we are all havin pullin withdrawls and Oo. off the walls of or shops.

Straley, I wish I was half the puller you are man ,that was a bad truck
