They moved the pillar speakers to the dash (3 1/2 in speakers now) and I have no idea about the 7th mystery speaker. I cheaped out and didn't get the Infinity system so I could put my own radio and speakers in. Only hassle is the front door speakers. The factory includes "6x9" speakers, but you can't go buy a real 6x9 and put in it as it will hit the window glass or gear, and it is really a 5x8 cutout. So, 6 1/2 speakers are the way to go, I think. So much for my bass. Not sure where I would mount a sub to compensate. A real PITA. Dodge could have done much better in designing a standard mounting.

I noticed in the Mopar Parts PDF File that they offer a 6. 5 inch sub woofer with an 80 watt amplifier that mounts under the drivers seat... ... ... ..... anyone have this option?? If so, how does it sound??

There are two speakers on top of the dash in either corner. These appear to be about 2. 5" in diameter The one in the middle is smaller, it appears to be about 1. 5" in diameter. I assume that they are all tweeters.

When we ASSUME, it makes anASS out of U and ME.

Just a heads up. I ordered 4 new 6. 5" kicker i600's for my 99. along with the speakers came this nice little adapter plate for both front doors, it mounts up nicely. I'm not worried about bass too much as I'm also installing two powered 8" kicker comp vr subs.

Good Question.....

the boxes I bought don't look like they are going to fit under the back seat so I'm going to have to do some thinking, I'll get them in there, just may have to mod the boxes some.

Morph, if the boxes don't fit then I would suggest saving money by returning them and buying just the woofers and building the boxes yourself. Never mind if they are powered subs. :D Ps. The best setup for two 8's is one under each seat and the amp under the center seat. Unfortunately this option doesn't work if you have more than one amp since there isn't enough room under the center seat. :( Oh well, that when you put them behind the rear seat. :D

I bought the components seperately, boxes and subs are from two different sources, and I had an amp to power both the subs already. I've got 25 bucks in the boxes and haven't made an actual true assesment if the boxes will fit under the seat as it was raining this evening and ddn't feel like dragging the back seat out to the truck to see how it fit. They might fit under the front seats, but didn't really want them there. either way, I'll get them installed.
