I think itd fit with a body lift. I was tossing the idea around,since there are alot of 8. 3Cs around here with p7100's. The torque is too much though IMO for the transmissions were using now if the engine is bombed (mine would be)

IS THE 8. 3 JUST TALLER? I KNOW ITS HEAVY BUT I IMAGINE HEAVY SPRINGS WOULD HOLD IT UP. ANYONE KNOW THE INS AND OUTS?

The 8. 3L C-series engines weigh about 300# more than a 6BT...

They're a few inches longer and a few inches wider as well...



In all honesty, we're making a BOATLOAD of power with the 6BT's, and they're living through pretty much everything we can throw at 'em. I see no real reason to go with a 6CT - other than to do something different for a change...

Basically, the C-series 8. 3L is the big brother to the B series 5. 9L that we have. The 8. 3L does have liners that our 5. 9s don't. They do need coolant additives to prevent cavitation. We don't.
