8.3 replacing 5.9

AS I posted in the other thread, the 8. 3 engine isn't as big a problem as is the transmission - the best available transmission is apparently the Allison 6-speed - and it's huge and heavy!

Fuller-Eaton trannys will bolt up to the 8. 3... . I think.

As I understand it, the 8. 3 engines are fairly easy and inexpensive to come by, but the trannies are a different story...

FL70CAT ... . do you have a 3126 in your truck , how does it perform torque wise. . tell us a little about your truck if you have done this conversion , I have allways considered the 3126 as an exellent inbetween motor from the 5. 9 to the 8. 3
