Competition Speed Limiter

Competition James Silva goes 13.98

Anybody know what the formula is to estimate your 1/4 times, and Horse Power?

Due to the weather, the track was only allowing us to run the 1/8. This was my first time running this truck. Only got 3 runs, and 8. 72@78. 45MPH, 60ft=1. 905, was the best. We won't discuss reaction times :( they all sucked.

The most boost I was ever able to build was about 15lbs, and the truck still just crawled out of the hole, at least that's how it felt. I just wasn't able to get in to the lights quick enough to start building boost. Darn imports beat me into the staging lights every time :( although I had some nice burnouts :D , and I ran them all down during the run, it could have been alot better, at least I was hoping for more.

Thanks for your help,

The DD truck is running mid 8's at 82mph. 1/4 mile times are 13. 3 to 13. 5 at 103mph. Your numbers are pretty close, so your movin'. :D

13. 8 to a 14 flat.

Very fast no doubt. What the heck kinda set up do you have? 12 or 24 valve? Mods?

The best I can get my heavy tank to go is about a 9. 20 1/8 mile.

Thanks guys.

I guess the times are respectable, I was just hoping for more. I do need some more practice, I really think the thing could run an 8. 50, if I could just get some boost built at the line.

I average 8. 4 to 8. 5 in the 1/8th mile. That was with my DDIII's.

Haven't ran with the BDIV's yet.

I take it your using 4wd? What boost are you launching at? If your using 4wd skip the burn out box... ... . no need for it. GO straight to the line and get stage and get on the throttle :) However IF you stop making smoke on the line look at your boost gauge! LOL I almost launched at 25psi a while back.

Oh ya, watch out..... you'll get hooked real easy ;)

Heres some good "Car math" calculators : PreStage

I like the "G force" calculation.

I got some transmission tuning to do then I should be faster ;)

Kat,

Thanks for the links, that was exacty what I was looking for.

I did use 4 wheel drive, but I also did the burnouts, which was why I never had enough time to build boost at the lights. Next time I will skip the burnout's, and head straight for the lights.

As for the boost, I think I got around 15 on this run, but to be honest, I forgot to look at the gauge  next time I will pay more attention.

Thanks for the advise.
