A friend and I noticed the other day that the inside dimensions of our 8 ft. beds (on his "94 1500 and my "98 3500TD) are not square. He noticed this after installing a Leer cap on the back and noticing that things didn't seem quite square. The inner width at the tailgate was about 63" and a bit over 65" at the cab end. I am assuming that the beds were engineered this way, since neither of ours have been damaged in any way. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why the beds were engineered this way?
