Mines a '95 3500, 5 Speed with a #8 (230/605) plate, timing at 15 BTDC, CPL 1550.
The truck is a daily driver with towing on the weekends.
I have the #8 plate in stock position and the AFC a tad from full forward. Boost goes to the mid to high 30s on acceleration. The truck runs strong. I am going for max MPG, and min smoke. I get 17-18 MPG dry and was getting 21 before plate and timing change.
I get a lot of black smoke from stop and semi hard acceleration. The "star wheel" is 20 clicks away from engine in an attempt to reduce smoke. Should I back up the AFC housing more? Or, give the star wheel more "squeeze"? Is that the gov spring that the star wheel tightens/loosens?
