I just installed a #8 plate today. Put it in the stock location to start out. I previously had the stock plate slid foreward fully. On the test run, It seemed to have less power and hardly any smoke than before. I ripped it back open and slid it about 1/8" ahead. Next test run, it felt like about the same amount of power as when the stock plate was slid, but nice smoke, only heavy on each shift then clears to a nice haze at WOT. Max boost with plugged wastegate was about 34, egt on the flat empty WOT were about 1100.

Does this sound about right? I really didnt notice alot of power increase compared to my previous setup but seems like egt's are alot better.

Thanks ahead of time

Chris

Sounds about right, you have more boost that I had, I was at 28 with the boost elbow in the kit. Get some 3k's from Piers then play with the plate a little, when I had my plate all the way forward with the 3k's and my 16 housing egt's were around 1300, same as the #4 I have now in the stock postion:D

Thats good news, I'm gonna wait till I hook into the camper and see what the egt's do, then maybe slide a little more ahead:D

I checked the lever, Its about midway between the bottom of the plate and the first nose. It could come up about 1/16 or a little better to be on the bottom nose, but I couldn't get the *&%$#@ screws loose. I gotta get a little bent screwdriver or wait till next filter change and take the filter off.

P. S. I picked up my plate on e-bay for 100. 00;) The seller didn't know if it was TST or what, so I took a chance. It has 8 stamped on the top and bottom of the top piece and the cam part is screwed on instead of rivited. I dont know of any other plate makers other than bosch and TST

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Dyno here I come:cool:
