While I would never tell anyone to move to California, a local Arco has diesel for 3. 75 per gallon, go figure.

How in the $#&*# HELL does anxiety over the banking mess make oil go up 25% ? It didnt go up that much when we invaded Iraq or Afghanistan. It didnt go up that much when Iran threatens to shut down the gulf !!!

Before those #$(%* in Washington act on the banking crisis, they need to put an immediate halt to the way oil is priced. They have the power to do that if they want to. They need to do that today, and act on the banking issue first thing in the morning.

, they need to put an immediate halt to the way oil is priced. They have the power to do that if they want to. You mean the same administration that put it on the open unregulated market??

That would be a GREAT DAY!! You hold your breath untill it happens and let us know, ok?:-laf

Well, thanks to the government "bail-out", the value of our trusty dollar is sinking to new lows against other world currencies. Consequently, those folks that are selling us oil on the world markets need more dollars to achieve the same value.

While the CEOs of the mortgage companies and investment banks are being ousted with their golden parachutes in exchange for driving our economy into the dirt, us tax payers are left holding the bag and paying for the whole mess. (doesn't it feel good to know your tax dollars are funding the severance packages of these guys!) If we don't fall into a world depression as a result of this situation, I'll be surprised.

Unfortunately, until we can patch up our economy and restore the value of the dollar, we are going to see this adverse effect oil prices.

This administration has valued big business over the general public from the very beginning. Wanna merge and form a monopoly (XM & Sirius) no problem! Wanna take several oil companies and make just a few, no problem. Oops big banking is in trouble now, so lets use the tax payers dollars to bail them out. Never mind the pain, that individuals are going through, we have to take care of big business!
