Reb. B said:I love my old 12V, but there are so many more options with the common rail. I'm gonna start to pull the 12V out of my big 99 truck and stick in this common rail i picked up the other day. Its just so easier to go from 400 HP to 800 HP in a common rail. No smoke, no turbo lag, drive any where any distance without worry, ... . yah i'm happy.

RMalone said:How do you keep rail pressure high enough?
I just installed a set of E. D. M's I got through Greg at greatlakesdieselworks/LSFarms. They help spool-up a whole bunch and with TST on 1/1 or 2/2 they run cooler than stock injectors at similar seat of pants feel (lots more smoke though, at any TST setting). However, when the TST is turned up to 3hp/any trq setting the egt goes through the roof. For example TST at 4/4 and egt went to 1750deg real fast (the truck didn't feel much stronger than w/TST at 2/2 either yet 450deg warmer).
I suspect rail pressure (guage is on the way) just nose dives and the ecm compensates with duration. Given that the TST is already increasing duration pressure drops even faster and you end up shooting a bunch of low pressure fuel way too late. Just my uneducated opinion.
What do you gents suggest?

Reb. B said:i dynoed 700 with no nos. I dynoed a month ago at 634 no nos or water/meth. I was 40 HP more this time across the board and i gain a little more with less duration this time, so i guess around 660 or so. I need more testing. The other day i was last and we were all in a hurry to hit the basque for picon punch. I just wanted over 800 this time. With some additonal testing, pressure improvements and better NOS programming i'm hoping for some really big numbers. The best thing is that i have so much more potencial.
