85 1 ton ford cummins swap

Does anyone out there know anybody who might have swapped a 12 valve into one of these trucks? Has 460 4speed in it now... i have done an 06 ford with a 12 valve and am doing an08 with a 6. 7L and an allison right now and was talking to levi at destroked and he was sayin they are even more time consuming than those... I am trying to picture this in my head why... . I need to do a quote for a customer and not sure about hours job could take... .

The Trucks television show on SpikeTV dropped the Ford body onto a 2nd generation 12V Dodge chassis. Maybe that says something about the difficulty of swapping the 12V into the Ford chassis. Just sayin'... ...

I know... . been staring at it and deffinetly be some issues... . kinda see what to do but cant really estimate it all in my head as far as hours go with the unforseen problems. would love to talk to somebody about it but am reserved in using fordcummins. because i have before and could not believe some of there suggestions but i might have to get over that and take what they say with a grain of salt and run with it... .

Ive called ford cummins about a question and they answerd it about a clutch line fitting

with no issues in fact i showed them something they did no know was avalible . Ill agree

some of the first installs they did were probally alittel cobbed up , but now there useing Destroked parts , Anouther source would be is Autoword in great falls Montana they have pics of a mid 80s ford , The guys on power block did the easy way out , thee not even real mechanics or fabricators if they were they would have used the ford chassis .

Only way that you might find out is go to American Truck Historical Society - Home its the Anerican truck historical society ,there was a guy by the name of Ken Self that put one in years ago before the craze back when cummins had the conversion kits , put a question on the guest form , or you might try calling a cummins dealer to see if they done any and have a rate sheet for it
