Can anybody tell me if the Amber front turn signal lenses from an 89 Grille are the same size as the 92 Clear? My 86 grille wouldn't go back with the intercooler and A/C condenser in place. The 86 is too deep set. I am switching to a 92 grille but like the Amber t-sigs better for my paint scheme. i have good Clear 92's but will order new 89 Ambers if they will fit.

That I know of they are diffrent both in size and looks , if you dont have one of each to try any how . You might call a j yard and have them lok in there interschange book.

Thanks for the info Donovan. I appreciate it. The truck is in for paint right now. My grandson's Vocational Ed body class at Hatley, Ms. High School is painting it for me. When they are done, I will be reinstalling grille and wanted to know prior to that. When it is done, I'll post a picture or two.

The 86-90 turn signals are integral to the headlight doors/bezels. The 91-93 turn signals are an assembly to themselves. It would take major fabrication to accomplish a swap.

dodgenstein, thanks for the come-back. I appreciate it. My brother has a 92 with amber signals and I would like to do mine the same. His is a user that came that way. I can stain mine, which I probably will, but I just thought if I could come with new ones, I would. I had noticed several 89's with the amber. My brother's is the only 92 I've seen with the amber signals.

I shaved my '89 style grille down depth wise to fit in my '92. . I swapped the '89 style grille and headlight into the '92 etc. .

Therabbittree, How much did you have to shave it? I started checking for new 89 grilles as soon as I read your post and haven't found any yet. The usual places have only the grille inserts. I was really wanting to go back with the 86 (I just like the design better) but can easily live with the 92. The 92 I have is cracked and will be ordering new. Plenty of them available from multiple sources. The 89 Looks a lot like the 86, so that would work well, but need to get one soon (month or so) as my truck is in paint shop now. If I end up going 92, I can color the turn signals if I decide to do that.
