Any roofers? Need help with problem

to pass time...

Yes I am serious... ;) I already have an old Honda Accord with 146,000K on it and am getting a Suzuki Samurai very soon (as soon as I can find a good one. Have one for sale?), but I am a bit concerned about the power... 67HP!!! :--) I have seen the kits for dropping in a VW diesel, or a 1. 6L from a Tracker/Sidekick.

However I like all of us want something different, reliable, powerful, and cool  , so born was the idea of mating my 2. 0L MPFI 12 valve DOHC Honda motor into a Samurai.

My question is: CAN IT BE DONE!!? Of course I would be rebuilding both the Honda and the trans in the Samurai, but can I mount a motor designed for a transaxle to a Suzuki 5spd? I am not looking to spend a load of money (nothing over like $700~) to adapt the combo to each other, possible?

I would assume that the motor would not be too hard to mount in the zuki frame? I have the normal supplies, welder, plasma cutter, oxy acetylene rig, drill press, vertical/horizontal band saw, and MANY others... Between me and possibly a machine shop can it be done without too much riggin and special adapters?

Also what would I need to do to the clutch to make it work properly?

And once again, would the Zuki trans even mount to the Honda motor?

I know this isn't the ideal place to ask this but I know there are some guys that are really into Samurai's on the TDR.

BTW, I am very serious about doing this, and want to move beyond just an idea, so if you know something about this please let me hear it.

Thanks guys, and sorry for the long post!

Anything is possible with enough time, and money, but I am thinking your budget is a little too small. How about a toyota 22R in it. They can be made to put out some decent power, they are supe reliable, and I would think it would be easier mating a rear drive engine to the zuki chassis.

On a related note I love those zuki's,and I would love to get one,and drop a ported 13B Mazda Rotary under the little hood. They don't make much torque, but it would be fun,and unique. Good luck with your project, and keep us updated, and pictures would be great.
