Competition 913 RWHP in a race truck...

865rwhp @ 1371.2 TQ

Great time again at Ken Imler Diesel, good to see everyone.

My first run was going great and guess what happened ? you guessed it, the motor just shut off like it did at HDDR. I reacted to quickly and started the motor right up as normal but forgot to check and see if the selinoid had dropped. Second run going great again motor shuts off again, I had ken look under the hood to see if the selinoid had dropped and sure enough it had so I said lets zip tie that ***** right now, we did and no problems after that. All runs were made using water meth with only a 13% mixture for max cooling. I have two seperate water meth kits installed each with two nozzels for a total of four nozzels all with the 625ml nozzels. the next run I only used one system and laid down the 859 the run after that I turned on both systems and laid a 865. my high was 865rwhp @ 1371. 2 TQ I have to get the sheet out the truck for the exact number. This was done in front of well over 50 people in public, no closet dyoning here :D

I am pleased with numbers as I really don't care about dyno numbers. I am intrested in the TQ numbers as that is what is important on the sled pulling track IMO

Another thing that really amazes me is that this motor has so much more availible. I have the plate slid half way back along with only hitting 67psi boost. With bigger turbo's, slidding the plate forward, and 50% water/meth this thing would be down right scary

Not to shabby for purpose built sled puller :D

At what rpm did you make the 4000 ft lbs?

Calculating HP from 4500rpm X 3900ft lbs / 5252 = 3341hp

Seems like the numbers are a little off.

Or your setup is making 3000+hp.

Which WEST coast correction factor was used?

good hp number , but the torque is asque a little , don't mean to say you didn't make the hp, but the torque is not right.

hp is torque x RPM's / 5252

3900 foot pounds at 3000 rpms = 2277 hp

3900 foot pounds at 2500 rpms = 1800 hp

3900 foot pounds at 2000 rpms = 1485 hp

3900 foot pounds at 1500 rpms = 1113 hp

3900 foot pounds at 1164 rpms = 865 hp

Dang, a sled pulling truck is running up my back on the dyno, guess I better get busy. Good job Scott! Another version of your tax dollars at work :-laf

Jim

Scott, is correct on that number! But Keith is also correct as well that number is the multiplied number. 1370 something was the 1:1 Torque number anyway, Congrats Scott it was unreal you smashed YOUR previous record for the highest number on Ken's Dyno by over 200 RWHP!!!!! Just think what alittle more time on the dyno with Ken could do!!

P. S. please don't dyno right after me anymore :D

453 Hp/ 863 ftlbs for me. I thought the set up was worth more than that but I guess I was mistaken. Oh well Dyno numbers don't mean much to me anyway.

Scott,

Nice numbers, even better finding the shut off problem now what are you going to do with the solenoid?

Yes! Now if you could only pull sleds with it!!!! ;)

The 1300+ tq sounds about right for the way I have seen the truck perform.

Subtract the standard west coast corection factor of, "add 200 HP for whatever number you make," and you have 665,which matchs quite well with the tq number. :D :D :-laf

Seriously Scott, how many times have you dynoed with virtually the same set up, and what has been the variance on HP? ;) :-laf

Hey Shed Putter remove your head from ace for just a second. ;) :p

Scott took the truck back up to PDR this year for a new set of turbo's. If I'm not mistaken a Pro 52 Top Charger and Big Brother on the bottom. Virually NOT the same setup he has dynoed with before. :p #ad
Shed Putter I couldn't resist!#ad

I will be going to a pull cable and sell the selinoid,

Gene, Gene, Gene, don't be hattin becuase you get low numbers :-laf like I said, did in front of several folks at a public event and dynoed just like everybody else and if you can't keep up with my mods I will educate you.

Last time I dynoed before this past weekend was at the same dyno 1 year ago, I laid down a 646 rwhp.

Then I had a PDR35/HT3B combo, stock fuel lines, 370 injectors, 191 DV's, stock intercooler little timming.

Now I have Pro52/Big Brother combo, larger fuel lines, Lazer cut DV's, larger injectors rated at 60hp over 370's, 100psi intercooler, lots of timming.
