engine, trans, x/case for sale

I just bought a 89 D250 I want to transplant the drivetrain into my 84 D350 crewcab this winters project.
I wanted to get the whole truck so I have everything I might need.
I have read abought some swaps where they cut and swap front frame rails do I really need to do this? I would rather not do that has any one done this swap without cutting frame? I have no prob with cutting the mount perches out and swapping those if that will work. I havent set the two side by side to compare yet but they look simmilar to me thanks for any info Carey

I have heard that the eng will set alittle high in the 2 wheel drive gasser frame I cant see that its any higher in the lil red thoughwe can check out both of my conversons (the 83crewcab and the 78 lil red) at www.geocities.com/blown72rr/ let me know if I can help any George

thanks for the info 83 Crewcab I have seen your site before and they are both very nice rides would like to see the Lil Red run sometime I am going to run my crewcab the way it is this summer 440 w 671 blower thanks ps when I start my swap I'm sure I will have more ????

I just spent last week "test fitting" a '94 CTD into an '81 crew cab 2wd frame (minus the cab at the moment) and a '74 club-cab 2wd. One thing I noticed on both of my trucks and in one of the pictures of Larry B's '72 motorhome installation is that the engine sits a little cocked to the right. I slotted the hole on the left side of the frame down about half an inch which almost leveled the engine, but now the oil pan just rubs the tie rod. I really can't imagine that Dodge would have reworked all of the steering also just to lower the engine in the frame an inch.

My final determination is that I am going slot the left frame hole down 1/4 inch, then shim the right side up to level the engine in the frame. I'm convinced that this will put the engine almost exactly where the factory put it, or at least as close as I can get it with out redesigning the whole front of my truck.

Just a note, Dodge changed the tie rods for the diesel trucks to have a bent rod to allow clearance for the oil pan.

We went though the same problem with a 85 crewcab conversion we did and ended up using the 89 Dodge diesel truck tierod the give us the clearance needed

You will need to git one from the Dealer or a good pars house that sell complete tie rods.

I will be doing the Same Conversion

to my 85 Crewcab which is sitting in the backyard, later this year or next year when I have the time
