Question for cummins powered ford guys

My poor old ugly truck will be beautiful once again and will be able to seat the entire family to boot. Just confirmed purchase of a 73 Dodge Crew Cab in excellent condition less motor and trans.

Truck is a former bomb squad rig so renaming her should be interesting. :D ("The Ugly Truck" just won't do any more).

Plan is to take about a year and do a frame off including boxing some of the vital parts of the frame and a custom flat bed with storage lockers and roll bar/light bar/loading crane unit.

Entire drive train from 89 will be transfered.

Bought truck off of Ebay and will be picking up on Saturday.

Hopefully a couple of pictures will appear below.

Good luck on the conversion, I too picked up a 85 Crewcab a while ago, took 5 months to finally get the title, I was going to tear my 93 Clubcab truck with 99k miles to get all the good parts off the 93 for my Crewcab, but dread to do this as I bought her in June 93 brand new and get sick to my stomach when I think of that, but it seems everyone wants the truck for nothing, So if it dont sell either complete or as motor and drivetrain only?

I also will do a complete frame off transplant.

Email me if you have any questions as we have already done a 85 Crewcab as well as a 91 Ramcharger.

So could BOMB this truck? Is it possible?:D

Or would that be redundant?

Sounds like an interesting project... good luck.

Just make sure the truck is a male. All Rams are male. Wouldn't want to go to all that trouble on a ewe

:D :D :D

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the transplant of the might Cummins would automatically correct the Ram/ewe discrepancy if present! sort of an automatic sex change so to speak:D

She's home

Brought thr crew cab home on Saturday, nice little day trip. Did decide that when 4" exhaust system is stretched to go under it a muffler will probably be added. First time I have towed any weight at highway speed since the exhaust upgrade. When the boost gauge hits 14 psi it gets loud, by the time it gets to 20 psi the rear slider is rattling. DID NOT impress the police officer I went by pulling a 30* incline:rolleyes: . Luckily no tickets were issued, just a verbal warning and a suggestion that I not visit the Appleton area in the near future.

As for Joe and Paychk's comments, all of my trucks have been female, makes em easier to sweet talk. This one is just more on the order of China, a chick I would definetely not like to meet in a dark alley.

Should have room for the truck in the garage by Sunday night. Hope to have front clip off by Monday night. Will keep ya all posted as to the progress.

Paul
