After reflecting on the post I just made above and how there are only a couple of flags on the block. Shortly after 9/11/01, it was well noted how everyone sort of jelled and got along and was courteous and patriotic. As the years rolled on this really has gone away. And now that this 9/11 has come and gone I just realized that on my block, It didn't matter- from the front stoop anyway.

Yep, I'm a GS-13 (civ svc). I loved being in the military, but they only let enlisted serve for 30 years. So, I did the next best thing... I now work for the AF as a civilian. I work with a bunch of great guys, all retired military and serving again. I'd go to war with everyone of them any day.
