OK guys, I put my sport lights in today and hooked up the old harness to the outer bulb. Man, the low beams were dim!! I had to drive around with the highs on.

I remember seeing on the board something about the 9007 wiring being different, but I've done several searches, and come up with nothing.

Can anyone help me out here? I have to make the harness tomorrow.

Thanks.

Patriot, this is what you're looking for.

CAnderson - I think the reason the 9007 doesn't work well on yours is the connector is not pinned correctly. I had exactly the same symptoms on another project I've worked on. The connector for 9004 and 9007 bulbs is the same, but wiring is different. Should be LOW/GROUND/HIGH from left to right looking at the back of a 9007 bulb. I also posted this on the Sport Headlights Again thread. Hope this helps.

This is the best I can do; I'm not smart enuff to get the URL to copy over. This is from a thread started by CAnderson on January 5, 2002, titled 'Any one want to improve their sport headlights?'

I *think* the 9004 is High/Low/Ground from the back of the bulb from left to right and the 9007 is as above. Should be able to repin the connector - the biggest pain may be getting the gray clip off the back of the connector (if it breaks it's not a BIG deal as long as the wire isn't always pulling on the connector). After that, use a very small screwdriver or similar tool to insert under each terminal from the front of the connector and pull lightly on the wire from the back. Reinsert them in the proper order and you should be done. Post or PM with further questions - this should get you going.

Thanks Steve. That was what I needed. I didnt get to it today because nobody locally had any 12 gauge wire, or relays.

I want to do this right. Maybe I can find this stuff tomorrow.

Eric
