just making pre trip checks and my transfercase is very low. Need to put more in but Dodge houses are closed on Sunday. What is used in there I useually get Mopar but never new what was in there. Need to leave ASAP for family Christmas Trip
A word of caution here, I changed my transfer case fluid in my 95 Dakota and shortly there after had to replace the seals. Chrysler came out with a TSB stating that regular Dextron II was NOT compatable with the seals used and Mopar was the only one to use despite the owners manual saying that Dextron II was OK as a substitute. Chrysler warrantied it because of that. I cannot get a straight answer on whether this is sill the case. If your transfer case fluid turns black your are disolving your seals.
Verlyn, I have asked DC this question and got yes and no to using non-Mopar fluid. Do you know someone who has sucessfully used (non-synthetic) non-Mopar fluid for extended mileage?
