so i went to get an alignment today. they found a cracked upper control arm on the driver side, right at the upper ball joint. im on the hunt for for a replacement. parts manager at my local dealer said he could get me one. there is one part number for 90-92, 3300 or 4000lb front axle. 93 had two different numbers, one for each weight rating. my truck is a 92. 5. how do i know which one i need? anybody with a line on a good, but used replacement, please contact me. im out of a truck until i get this fixed.

You should go with the 1993 4000 lb PN. They'll all fit and they are upgraded due to breakage issues...

Mine broke on my 1989 in a parking lot (drivers side upper near the mount to the frame aft part of the arm)

I was able to get the whole front end from a 192 d250 diesel and the upper control arm was reinforced in the EXACT spot where mine failed...

I know that the 1993s are even more robust... Uppers and lowers. .

The coil springs on the D350 have a slightly larger diameter than the D250. The springs are slightly shorter but the spring rate is stiffer. I would make sure that the 1 ton spring will fit. My D250 has the 4000 lb front axle and I don't think the 1 ton springs will fit. The rubber isolators for my truck will not fit the top of the 1 ton springs.
