Fuel mileage and tire tread style?

I have a 92 W-250 it's intercooled and has 254,000 miles i just recently purchased this trucked for 2500 bucks and it runs great except it doesnt wanna start all the time. It has a brand new lift pump and it still cranks for 15-25seconds so all the fuel must be runnin back down past the lift pump right? It also has a brand new injection pump. Any thoughts on how to remedy this fuel problem. I have cracked all the fuel lines and everything seems not to have air in them.

I would start looking at the fuel lines from tank to motor maybe a crack in one and it is going unnoitced ?

Same here

Not hi-jacking the thread but I'm having the same issue. When I use a light misting of starter fluid it fires right up. Changed the pump yesterday and thought it was fixed and it acted up again today.

My truck had some after market fuel tanks that were coroded pretty bad, I never used them, took them off and just plugged the lines off at the "mechanical switches".

I'll be looking for air/fuel leaks underneath and try to get the main tank plumbed directly to see if that fixes the problem.

Otherwise I'll be monitoring this post as well for other folks' responses.

Try pushing on the accelerator just enough to pull the throttle off the low idle stop, then crank. Sometimes the idle stop will get a little worn and offer stubborn starts. Next time it does not start, crack the injector lines loose and crank it over, to see if fuel delivery is up to snuff. If its blowing fuel all over upon cranking, then I guess I'd consider injectors.

After it starts once, and shut off, will it start right back up, or another stubborn start? If its always stubborn, then its not air IMHO, but if its just the first start after setting overnight, then it could be air. A way to prove this, is pump the priming pump a bunch before starting it, and see if start up improves.

I assume you've checked the wiring to the shut off solenoid.

Just some ideas.
