92 ram 250 speedometer/Instrument cluster

I have a 92 ram 250 and need some parts for the speedometer/odometer. anyone have any idea where they can be found.

I think your best bet would be to start looking for an entire replacement unit on eBay or in your local wrecking yard. There used to be a guy on here that i thought rebuilt them but i don't remember. As i recall it was a little plastic wheel internally that would break causing the odometer to go out, sounds like yours is both though so i'll let some of the more seasoned guys help out. Me personally am going to a custom instrument cluster in order to avoid all that.

If all else fails, and that design will fail again, even if you do refurbish it, you could go custom from Autometer. The shop that did a lot of the upfit for my son's Cummins Ramcharger did a bang-up job with a big round digitally controlled speedometer, flanked by boost, pyro and volts on one side, and fuel, water and oil on the other, inset in a flat black panel, in place of the OEM cluster.

United speedometer, there are two - One in Houston, Tx. But they are higher than ___________ (Fill in the blank) on a farris wheel!! I had one rebuilt, as they used to be around $100 or so, but recently they charged me $200!!



The other is United Speedometer in Riverside, Cali, but I haven't used them in a while. They used to charge me @ $100, too. United Speedometer Service. Sales, repair & calibration of instruments and gauges. Featuring Encore Gauges, VDO Performance Instruments, Stewart Warner Instruments, Rostra Cruise Control At one time, these guys offered a replacement, too... that was over ten years ago.



Also, I've heard of these guys, but haven't ever used them. It's supposed to be the place to get your parts. http://www.carradio.com/

Would have to dig up the itemized bill. Was part of a rather shocking total



One of these days I need a truck barn so that I can do a project that doesn't include "labor" :{



I suppose the dashboard in total, was about $1200 worth of the adventure, but I could be very wrong. Keep in mind it was total Autometer, 6 little gauges, big speedo/odo, all the sensors to feed them, and the wire-wizard kid's labor.
