Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 925 rpm idle speed.

Does anyone on here have an idle speed higher than 800rpm?



As long as I can recall, my idle has been 925rpm. It's not the tach as you can hear it is faster than the other 24valvers I've been in.



What would cause this?

Mine does too,its the cold climate reflash,i had done to keep it from stalling with huge injectors. The flash raises the idle speed a tiny bit for running with no1 diesel. If you had that reflash done,that will do it. I think its 18-19-01

Bulletin 18-019-01 says it ramps from 800 to 1200. Doesn't say 925 so I'm confused what that re-flash actually does. I want it don't but I don't want a 925 idle. Wish I could just buy a programmer and pick what I want Oo.

i may be wrong on the reflash number i knwo ihadthe 18-190-1 done though and my idle does not ramp up ever,my idle RPM did come up about 50-75 rpm though

I think there's a re-flash for "cold running on #1 diesel" and a separate "cold high idle" reflash. Memory is bad, but I think I remember seeing that somewhere now.
