'93 Hummer Cummins Conversion

Here's a couple of pics. It's the driveline from an '03 2500 including the ISB-305, 48re, and NV271. It's also got the upgrade 12K halfshafts. About 12 months worth of work, but it enjoyed the snow run in Grayling, MI last week on it's maiden voyage.

A little more info. First, that short fat guy in the pic is my friend Wayne.

HaHa.

The project was started Feb '06 and that pic was taken 6-11-06, about 4 months later. Looks almost finished. But not really.

I moved the batteries to under the passenger's seat (original location on a '93 Hummer) to make alignments, engine work easier. I also went to a better transmission cooler. I redid a lot of stuff, so the conversion ended up taking probably 600 hours, I of course could do another in about half the time, but that's how these projects go.

The tires are IROK 42's, and the truck has front and rear Auburn Ected (electric) lockers. Front and rear winches. Dual 20 gal fuel cells.

The donor vehicle ended up having noise in the transmission and tcase, so I replaced those - it must have been hit while in overdrive.

About 20K in parts costs (included is the cost of donor at $9800).

man thats beautiful work. Its crazy that 60% of the block is in the cab. ive never understood what exactly it is that takes up all that space in the front. good lookin rig to say the least.
