My 93 started not charging when you first start it up. {sometimes it would if you really reved it up} But now it won't even do that. I changed the cut out relay- {didn't help} I had a alternator rebuild shop take the alternator apart and check it-it was all good. I figured it must be the ECU since that's where the voltage regulator is. {Am I right?} I tried to get a used one on line -they said they needed the part number of the old one- the tag is so old, I can only read about 4 numbers. Is there anybody out there that can help me with a part number or a suggestion?

Thanks.

Is your crank sensor set at about . 050"? The ECU get its signal that the engine is running and excites the alternator. Or so I remember. I would imagine the guys will correct me if I am wrong. Welcome to the site.

Correct! also check the wire harness at the front of the motor and the disconnect that is there.

heres the breakdown of the cost: $24. 30 for shipping... absurd?? Yes, but its worth it due to the good deal. $227. 50 before the core. Comes down to a total of $251. 80. when you send in your old PCM theyll refund you account $125. So after its all said and done, youre only spending $126. 80. not a bad deal i my opinion. ive had mine in for almost a year and who knows how many miles. no issues. hope this helps.
