1978 Ford F350

An excellent repower candidate!

I have a friend that is interested in converting his 93 dually to diesel. The 360 is getting a bit tired and fuel prices have got him interested in goiing for economy. At first I suggested getting a different truck because of the work involved, finding and buying a motor, ect, but he's a logger and has the truck set up as he needs it with a utility box, fuel tank for the excavator and I think he is just attached to the old girl.

I'm wondering if all the attachment points are there for engine and intercooler or if it would need some fabrication. Is the core support the same? Is there any chance the automatic trans from the gasser will work?

Thanks!

Steve

The raditor support doesn't have the holes punched threw for the intercooler. But it is the same other than that.

The gasser trans does not have the correct bolt pattern. It is not beefed up to with stand the CTD.

It would be easyer to just change over the bed and other small items than switch out an engine/drive train.

Great idea, thanks Philip. I had not considered swapping the bed. He's a fairly resorceful guy, I'll see what he comes up with.
