Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 93 dodge

I just purchased a 93 freighliner FL70 bucket truck with a VST4000I lift. I've got to fly to New Jersey to pick it up then drive it home to Oregon roughly 3000 or 4000 miles depending on how I choose to go (the weather will decide). I"m going to change all the fluids in the ,engine,axels,and transmission. The engine is a 5. 9 Cummins all mechanical. With all the knowledge out there, is there anything in particular I should do or check in regard to the engine before the trip home? Thanks for any help.



P. S. the engine has 190,500. miles on it

First of all, how many miles does the engine have? Besides all the fluids, check belts and tires. You may want to take along tools, shop manual and a pair of coveralls. Maybe even a wireless laptop in case you do have problems you can post to this thread for help along the way. A 93 is not that old, I've drove an older Honda Accord then that from Albuquerque to Jacksonville, Florida and back.
