I developed a fuel leak today. I appears to be coming from where the priming pump meets the block. Any thoughts on this. It only leaks with the truck running. I changed the fuel filter a few days ago, I thought that was where the leak may have been coming from, however I wiped the filter down and it does not seem to have any diesel on it. If I put my hand under the fuel filter I get no fuel dripping on my hand. If I go under the truck I see the fuel dripping from there the prime pump meets the block?. . I have not changed my rubber fuel lines yet either. .

Do you have the original rubber fuel lines on the truck? How many miles on the truck? Replacing them may be a good place to start.

The truck has 104,000 on it and as I said it has the rubber fuel lines. It looks like the transfer pump is leaking. does anyone have a part number on the fuel pump?

I think the leak is the rubber fuel return line. it is about 8 in long or so located above the fuel filter. you have to remove the complete fuel filter to get to it.

I thought that fuel line also. But I can see the fuel dripping from the transfer pump not the back of the engine where the fuel line is? Have you heard of these pumps leaking before? I have not. Dodge want $309. Got one at the cummins place for $90

I haven't seen one leak either. I had one in my shop with a pretty bad leak that looked like was from the pump area. the owner thought the pump was leaking.

turned out to be the fuel return line hose was spraying down on the pump. the hose had a pin hole in it.

I will take a close look. . If I put my hand above the pump it stays dry. . but below is leaking. . It looks like there might be a small crack in the pump? weird. that hole setup could not be in a worst spot to work on. .

I had two separate metal return line assemblies fracture where the mounting tabs are joined to the lines. I am talking about the hardline that connects to the p pump at the overflow valve. One leaked at the front tab and the next leaked at the rear tab.
