Ive got a 95 12v with rust on the steel elbows on the tank cap. Ive got air leaking in someplace and Im going to gut the lines all the way back asap. Im just trying to figure out how I can upgrade to a 1/2" feed. Anyone hacked up the sender to upgrade the line sizes? I dont think the draw straw will work on anything other than a 98. 5+ sender unit =(

I have access to a bunch of aluminum tubing in 1/2" and 3/8" so I was thinking of drilling out the elbows and mounting tubing in there somehow. Anyone done this? Any ideas?

Does yours have the rubber gromet around the fittings on the top of the module? Does anyone have detailed pictures of the top of the 95 module? The reason that I am asking is if the module has the rubber gromet so you can pop the fitting out of the top, then a draw straw may work. Joe MC has good pictures of his install. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&userid=8327&albumid=18623 Check this out this may help. If your module looks like this you can put a Draw Straw in.

I called up Vulcan this morning and asked about that. the pre-98's didnt have the large hole with rubber grommet the draw straw uses. Apparently on the older units theres webbing under the top for reinforcement and that makes boring a hole for the draw straw difficult since its so big.

He suggested I go with the draw straw 2 since its smaller and comes with the rubber grommet, so I ordered two, a 1/2" feed and a 3/8" return. If I cant make these guys work Im sure I can sell them off later.

Does anyone know a place online I can buy just the fuel level sending unit and float arm?

I picked up a bunch of aluminum tubing so Im debating using that along the frame rails to minimize the amount of hose I have to keep an eye on. would be nice to find some fittings to go from 5/8" tube compression to 1/2" push lock.

Yeppers... . Your local Dodge Dealership, they are still available.

Beware though,I have a friend who owns a dealership who was working on a 97 Ext Cab with fuel line problems and found out that all the fuel lines for 12v's from the tank forward have been discontinued,so be careful when you mess with them.

BTW. .

One of my buddies has his 96's fuel system all apart due to rusty lines and has decided to go with a Fass due to that. He has his sender assembly out of his tank and it has the large rubber grommeted draw straw deal. He had a deal made to use a aluminum top there and a aluminum draw straw with a AN fitting elbow on top so he can just plumb his -8 Fass lines to it. I'll call him tommorrow and have him post some pictures of what he did to fix his problem with his lines and draw straw. I am going to do my 98 the same way as I am tired of playing Gumby when changing the fuel filter... ... Andy
