A friend with a 95 5sd. wants to add a fuel plate, which one mwill be the best without upgrading the clutch ? He just put new stock clutch in and wants more power. Maybe a #5 plate, but what else besides timing will he need to do. What plate in a Bullydog is the right one?

I put in a #5 TST plate and really like it. I still have a stock clutch, I also have a 4" exhaust system from Rip Rook and love it. The first thing I would do is get him some gauges.

Can you go to a larger plate like a #4 and move it all the way back so there is some enhancement in the future. What hp increase can he expect? He wants about 80-100hp over stock. He has gauges and a straight pipe.

I have heard that the #4 plate may need a heaver clutch, I have my #5 plate almost full forward, here is the TST web site http://www.tstproducts.com/ so you can tell what they say the HP should be, I also have the 215 hp injectors. I don't know what my HP is but the seat-o-meter sure likes it. I have pulled a 7% 7 mile long grade with a GCVW of 14000# and only had to use 2/3 throttle to keep it at 60 mph, it would have gone faster but I didn't have a FORD or CHEVY to embarrass.

I have a #4 and a #5 plate here in Houston if you want to drive here.

I can set your timing and test the plates to get the best setup for him.

Let me know, Michael

I like my set up with the #6. Add the GSK. Got to have it. Makes the 5 speed shift like a dream. I'm at a little over 300 hp with the stock air box, injectors ,exhaust (- kit +muf) and clutch. The clutch slipped one time when I first got the plate in about 2 1/2 years ago. Oh yeah, put the Westach combo gauge in the little useless hole next to the cup holder:cool:

Pumperdude-Not to stray from subject but where did you get the mounting bracket to put your combo guage in "the little useless hole". I want to put the a combo guage in the same place but haven't been able to find mounting hardware anywhere.

I got mine from Geno's Garage. Came with everything I needed. The mount is just a small piece of black plastic that pops in place. Makes for a real clean install. Give Genos a call .
