Have a chance to buy a 95 F350 6x6, dump body, clean truck, good tires, 5 speed, dead Power Choke. Question is if the five speed will have a Cummins compatible bell housing and input shaft, or will it have some weird ball Ford only input shaft? I've got a couple of "spare" 5. 9s on hand.

Should be no problem. I did a Cummins swap on a 89 F450 with the ZF5spd. If I remember right it did require a small amount of grinding of the transmission housing for starter drive clearance.

Been to both sites. They weren't commenting on the input shaft issue, but I figured out that motor mounts, bell housing adapter, flywheel and clutch for the currently automatic Cummins, exhaust manifold to clear A/C would get into a pile of money. And I'm not ready to take a crapshoot on fixing a dead 7. 3.

Only help I can be on this is to make Ferd jokes. So I will refrain from commenting on the subject. :D

Carry on... ... :D

Well, then for a build on a budget, that's the wrong truck. There's around 200 wires coming through the firewall on that baby... . Not a friendly bag of snakes. If it were a gas engine, it'd be a bit easier in that year model, but with the PowerJoke, nothing is easy... . You can build your own motor mounts fairly easy, and keep a Dodge transmission, getting a new driveshaft made, but the wireloom is going to be your biggest dilemma. There are not "easy" fixes for that... .

As far as fixing the 7. 3, they're really not THAT bad... At least when you compare them to a Duramax 6. 6 with Commiefornia emmissions or a 6. Oh-no.....
