KWIKKIRT, did it blow the 20 amp fuse under the electrical panel on the passenger side? If yes that fuse is just for the lift pump on the frame rail. Chev has also had poor luck with there lift pump. The truck will still run without a lift pump it will just kill the injection pump (sound familiar?) With the engine running you should be able to put your hand on the lift pump and feel it pumping. Also on the thermostat housing there is the water/fuel drain from the fuel filter. With the engine running open that t-valve and if it dies lift pump not working. The truck will be very hard to start if you kill it this way. The lift pump pressure is only 6-8 psi at idle on a good day. You can check the pressure by installing a gage on the end of the t-valve drain line and then opening the line. The lift pump is turned on when cranking then after the engine is running power goes through the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure switch is another piece that has a high failure rate. The switch is located below the fuel filter on the drivers side. It is a real pain to get to and you need a 30mm socket or wrench.
