95 transmission line install

Ok I got a 95 transmission line that came in 3 parts. What looks like the line, a small (about 6 inch line) and what looks like a t-connector. I assume the probe goes in that t-connector and the t-connector goes in the line somewhere. My question is to those folks who have installed this line. Do any of you have step by step instuctions?

What part # did you get? 5011244AA?



Unless they changed it since I bought mine a hair over a year ago, it didn't come with a T.



Does the line have a port welded on it towards the treanny end? If they changed it to use a seperate T for installing the sensor, that should make it easier to install.



Make sure to remove the check ball if it still comes with one. You won't need it on your truck. Mine was in the male end of the rubber hose. Rubber ball and spring/seat.



If the new line, fittings, and enough room will allow it, I would put the T in between the rubber and steel line. Should make it fairly easy.

It is an all steel line with no rubber parts. I am just very unsure how to put all of this together correctly and where on the truck will this thing go?

It has been a while, so I hope I have this right. Would have to look under truck tomorrow to double check for sure (manual is in the truck too).



The line goes in the right hand port of transmission that is in the picture. This on the drivers side. Goes from there to the cylindrical shaped heat exchanger below the turbo.



Could be they don't sell both the rubber and steel lines together as the Dodge dealer does. Glad the dealer did though. Mine was very hard and stiff, not very flexible as the new one.



It is pretty straight foward to replace the line. Make sure to have extra oil to add in when done. Will lose some.



Disconnect both fittings and remove a couple of clamps. You can snake it out without removing other lines. Bit of a pain, but not to awful bad.



Would you be able to post a picture of the line and T? I haven't seen their line.

The line with the port for the temp sensor replaces the front cooler line that screws into the side of the transmission.

Sounds like you got some made up kit and not the actual transmission line replacement. The transmission line replacement has the port already built into the line there is no T involved. I replaces the forward line to the heat exchanger like mentioned before. good luck... ... ...

Did the kit you got include an entire set of transmission lines for a '95?

No just part of the lines. It appears from what everyone is saying this is a jerry rigged setup and not the actual 95 transmission lines with the port already installed. Given that who should I buy the 95 line from? Anyone but from Desert Diesel? Do they have the actual line or is theirs jerry rigged also?

The line from the dealer costs ~$100. The fitting for the sender is already welded in place. My dealer had it on hand.

Ok, sorry for the delay in posting the pictures of what Mass Diesel is sending out as their "Trans Cooler line 94-02 with temp. port".

The first picture is the 3 pieces they sent me. You may not be able to see it but the lines look used. Like they came off of another truck which is fine just they did not clean it up prior to selling the part.

The next picture is the t connector with the transmission temp probe above it. As you can plainly see the probe will not be anywhere near the transmission fluid flow. This to me is p1$$ poor on their part.

Hope you can see the pictures. DougMartin also purchased the same thing and I am wondering how he is doing with his install? I PM'd him this past weekend. I am going to try to do my install this coming weekend.

Ya gotta be kidding me!! That will not work very well because the ATF will be too far from the sensor. I found that out when my sensor was too close to the pan after I removed my plastic fittings. I just added a little nipple to the port so the stock senor cleared. As a result of just adding that little bit the sensor didn't get warm enuff so I had no OD. I had to change it so the nipple was in the side of the transmission so the sensor was where it should have been on the line. The distance that caused the problem was only about a half inch. I realize that you are using an after market sensor for your gauge but I think the same affect will occur. Your temp reading will be low. Best bet is to get the proper '95 line from Dodge.

I am and have come to that conclusion. So much for that company. I will never again buy from them. Now lets see how long it will take my dodge dealer to get the proper part. I am thinking 6 weeks or so. They are so slow!!! I'll give them a call tomorrow. :{ :{ :{

Don't be surprised if they have it in stock. It's part of a safety recall that applied to gasoline powered Rams.

Well I can tell you that is NOT the repalcement transmission line, what a joke for a replacement. Looks pretty jerry rigged if you ask me. Good luck I hope you come up with the right line. Try Dodgeparts.com, I would call them maybe they have them. Later.

I called the dodge dealer this morning with the part number 5011244AA which seems to be the one everyone is ordering. They say 2 weeks and 127 dollars later. So my install is put off til then. I want to thank everyone who responded. Your advice and words of encouragment are greatly appricated.
