The plumbing varies, but the result is the same. On my '95 there is a short hose from the intake manifold to the AFC and another short hose from the turbo output to the waste gate. That's the same setup as BSMcCauley describes. The seperate setup like ours may be less affected by a waste gate leak than the type with the T. Regardless there has to be enough boost to move the AFC foot throttle stop in order to have more fuel to create more boost to move the AFC foot more and so forth. If the diaphragm in the AFC is bad or something like that the whole process doesn't work.

I made the tool to pressurize the intake. I haven't had time to try it yet.

I have the same setup that bsmcauley and joe g. describe for the waste gate. to test it can i just clamp the line going to the turbo outlet or will pressurizing the system let me know if the diaphram is bad?

To simplify the question, can i do one test for leaks and for the wastegate diaphram or will i need 2 seperate tests.

I hope to work on it next week somtime
