Truck was losing power & stalled on expressway. Parked truck at store & couldn't keep running. Changed fuel filter & was able to get home. Still stalled on me. It seemed when I manually pump up the fuel it would start but not stay running. I thought it may be the transfer pump. Replaced transfer pump last night, pump it up & it started. This morning it didn't start. It was trying but wouldn't run. This just started after about 50 miles from my last fill up.

I'm going to check fuel pressure after work. Any thoughts. I've replaced rubber fuel lines from engine to body, selonoid is cumming up & staying up. Put some Power Service diesel additive in truck befor & after it started to act up. Any thoughts?

What charactistics does a bad injection pump have?

Truck is dead now... .

Stalling isn't a symptom of injection pump failing it is a symptom of air in fuel system, no fuel, and engine speed sensor connector being dirty or bent pins inside of it.

The engine speed sensor isn't your problem.

Air in fuel system seems to be the problem start by cracking open the banjo bolts for the fuel filter supply to filter first then the either the banjo bolt going to the injection pump or the banjo bolt on the injection pump (supply).

If your getting fuel at these banjo bolts crack open line at injector. If no fuel posible inection pump failure.

If no fuel check fuel heater out and/or pickup tube in tank.

Fuel pressure test 20 psi minimun after filter squeeze the rubber return line with pliers if pressure goes up its the overflow valve if pressure does not go up or goes up slowly then it is the tranfer pump.

What type of hose did you use for fuel lines you replaced?

How did it run after filter change?

It could be several things, most of them pretty cheap. Email me at -- email address removed -- for a copy of my 12 valve fuel supply system, how it works and how to fix it. It's a possibility that your fuel heater burned up.

JSTC,

My 95 was like that then it would not start.

Could not get the lift pump to pump up solid.

Replaced the lift pump and everything went good.

RMcKinney 1995 stock except gauges.
