Has anybody tried putting a 215hp fuel plate into one of the smaller HP pumps? I got the plate taken out of my '97 and was thinking of putting it into my buddies '94, after he gets his gauges installed. Is this a worth while endever for low budget bombing or a waste of time?

The way I understand it is the plates will interchange but a 97 plate in a 94 or 85 pump won't put out much power.

We put my modified 97 plate in a 95 last weekend slid all the way forward not worth the time not much power increase at all.

The 215 has bigger injectors and bigger delivery valves. I think the pump is different so that it delivers more fuel. If this is so then for any particular throttle stop position the bigger pump will deliver more fuel. That throttle stop position in the smaller pump will not deliver near as much. Another thing to look at is the table of expected horse power gains for the different plates. In a 160 HP engine (small) pump the #5 plate will deliver the fuel to produce 150 HP. That same plate is NOT recommended for the 215 HP engine! Tears up things! You might try a 160 HP stock plate in a 215 HP motor and see what happens. Probably make more than 215 HP.
