I just got my recall letter a couple days ago as well...

I am not the original owner of my truck either, but I am assuming the recall is sent to whomever is the current registered owner of that VIN. Which is how all of you are getting these recall letters without informing DC of the change in vehicle ownership. So as long as your truck is registered, they will know where to send info of that sort.

I have had mine for over a year and not recieved anything yet and on my 96 I started getting stuff after a trip to the dealer.

Guess what guys! I just got my notice today even though I'm not the original owner and had not contacted the stealer yet. So my questions are answered now. :)

I believe it is for trucks driven in the salty winter in the north. The secondary hood latch can corrode and fail to do its job.

The recall is a ten-minute task to remove the old latch and bolt the new one on.

Throttle Linkage

About 1 year ago my throttle started to get real stiff. Since then I've been hitting the ball ends and pivot point with some lube at every oil change which has cured the problem. I won't be going in for the recall repair. I would rather not have the dealership monkeys messing with my truck:D
