ive been fishing around trying to find what sounds like a loose vaccum hose connection under the dash for a long time now, my A/C vent position switch only works on a few settings, and i have no air coming out of the front vents at all, its always either coming out of the defrost, or the bottom vents. yesterday i had the whole switch pannel loose, and i could have sworn that the leak sounded like it was coming from inside the switch itself. its it common problem for those swtiches to go bad internally?? if so can i replace the switch and hope to cure my problem. thanks for any info.

Wes, I have the same problem on my truck, I know it's inside the switch, and I got another one (haven't put it in yet). Did you by any chance look at the vaccuum harness/connector? I'll probably swap mine as soon as I figure out how that's supposed to work...

will - by the looks of the switch where all the vaccum lines meet, there is that plastic rubber boot that looks likeit had 2 screws that hold the vaccum lines onto the switch, but i didnt really take a close look at it, just wondering how much did you pay for your new switch, and do you have a part #?? id like to get it fixed by next weekend because ill be leaving for north carolina for a week, and my ac works, but only on the defrost and floor vents, and it foggs the window up with the defrost on, which is a PIA! thanks for any info.

Mine came out of a junk yard, so I am not sure of a price. I'll look tomorrow to see if there is a part # on it though. I hacked the vaccuum harness off with the switch, I am still not entirely sure how it comes apart...
