Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) '97 broken into help

My truck was broken into and they stole everything... including the case that velcros under the rear seat. It has the jug wrench and the extensions for the jack. The extensions are used to lower the tire is there anything else you can use to lower the tire? Also if anyone wants to sell there jack accessories kit I would be interested. Not sure if you guys that lift your trucks and such have any use for the stock jack and accessories. They didn't get my jack but they probablly didn't know where it was or they would have taken it too. Thanks!

my truck didn't have the crank in it when I bought it... I picked one up at the JY for like $5. it's a pretty universal deal.

My last Dodge didnt have that stuff so I used a bolt the right size to fit the hole on the tire winch and double nutted it and use a ratchet and extension to lower the tire

If you've got an old cell phone charger laying around, that lights up when plugged into the accessory jack & no phone is plugged in, just cut the cord off it & leave it in all the time.



Mine has a red led. It's pulgged into the accessory jack that has power with the key off. It really shows up @ night.

willyslover is the man! I am driving to alaska from california at the end of May and he is sending me a jack accessory kit. It will be nice to have in case I get a flat on the journey. Pretty incredible that he would help someone he doesn't even know. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune!



One of my license plate lights was burnt out for many months so I decide to change it to my dismay when I took the lens off there was no light or socket only a hole. I took a look under the truck and the light/lightsocket was hanging there minus white circular piece that was still inside light assembly.

Bulb had melted plastic from the black part that held the light socket in.

It looked like to me someone tried to get a free ligthbulb by pulling on the wire from the backside apparently it didn't come all the way out then but the heat from the lightbulb touching or being to close to the black plastic the lightbulb melted itself thru the rest of the way.

I managed to get light socket back in with a new bulb it was working again.

Note there is a very thick clear plastic that allows light to pass thru but also protects the top plastic from melting this little bulb throws some heat.
