There is a green looking liquid all around the passenger side motor mount . I thought it was antifreeze but I cant find a leak . It looks like antifreeze but it has no smell and feels like oil . The truck is a cab & chassis(with a flat bed) and has a five speed and has 97,000 miles on it . I have heard that the motor mounts might be liquid fill , is that true ?????????????
 
Well I washed the motor off Saturday and as I was washing it (at the car wash after I sprayed it down with Gunk engine degreaser) I saw green stuff on the cement below the motor mount area. So yesterday I went to the people's (older couple)house that own the truck to put a new over flow value and a waste gate elbow on it I saw green stuff all over the motor mount . I look'd everywhere and I cant see no antifreeze leak anywhere . The motor is spotless clean but the whole motor mount is covered in green stuff . It don't smell like antifreeze . I did a search and I found one post saying that the factory mounts were liquid filled for less viberation . The truck is a five speed so no cooler in that area like a auto .
 
This same thing hapened to me. It was just a hose clamp that needed tightening. It was a little hard to find because it was seeping only at the bottom of the hose, and not all the way around. A mirror comes in handy at this point.
 
I am going to have to look at it some more . They just took it in and had a complete new (everything replaced)) AC system put on it before I washed the engine . I looked at all the hose clamps and hoses but I didn't see any leaks in those areas .
 
Take a look at the small hose that bypasses the thermostat. My truck (97 chassis cab) had a small leak there. The hose clamps they (factory) used did not allow you to tighten enough. It took me awhile to find because as soon as you start the motor the radiator fan blows it off. When it has been running (coolant under pressure) push on the bypass hose & see if it leaks. I found it while pressure testing, I leaned against it & it squirted on my shirt (it was hot). I was just looking wrong as it was all over my motor mount as well.

Thanks , I will look at that hose . Its not that much of leak because it is not loosing much(if any)antifreeze .
 
Well , yall will never guess. Went over to the older couples house today (that just bought the 97,that I have been helping out)to put a BHAF on their truck and to see if I could figure out what is on the motor mount . Well there was a little more green stuff on the mount so I started looking at the heater hose and the lower radiator hose and I could tell that the man that put the new AC system on the truck had taking the lower radiator hose off but there was no antifreeze on the hose . So I got to thinking this started happening after the new AC system was put on the truck . Now since I am from the old school and a R12 man , I have never had any dealings with 134A . I started looking at the AC system and I found a tiny drop of green stuff on the bottom of the new AC compressor . So then I put my finger on the pop off valve on back of the AC compressor and there it was a little bit of green stuff . I then called a friend of mine that has a diesel repair shop and ask him if 134A should have any green die in it . I knew that R12 was red . He said yea , bring that truck to the shop and let me put the gauges on it . Well guess what , too high of head pressure and too much green die .
