Did the EGR rear dics conv this weekend-Thanks SoCal Rattlin Rams members!!

Took about 6 to 7 hours with help, probably would take all weekend if flying solo. The brakes work great. Huge improvement over the stock drums, the truck actually stops. IMO it's money well spent. Thanks, Mike

832, the kit was about $1100. It had the rotors, calipers, new seals, new longer studs and brake fluid. The directions are pretty good too.

FANZDSLPWR, no I didn't have to change the master cylinder and it does work with 16" rims. Everything went together perfect. The only problem we had was with the EGR power bleeder. No matter what we did, it would not hold a tight seal on the master cylinder. To me, that was a waste of money.

EB, I've driven a 99, 01 and 02 and to me it stops alot better then all of them. I have not driven an 03 and up so I can't compare to them.

RacinDuallie, I don't think they have kits for 1 tons. I just looked at their site and they only advertise for 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks. If you want, here's the number for Glenn at EGR, he could probably tell you more>951-898-1168.

Tram-

Do you know what kind of rotors are in the rear and the pads? Hopefully they used easy to get stuff just incase EGR goes out of business or your stuck in a one horse town ... .

Erik

Erik, I called Glenn at EGR and he said the rotors are for an 82-92 250/350 4x4 Ford, the calipers are for a 78-79 Eldorado(rear), and the pads are part# D112 78-79 Eldorado high co-efficient. These are avaliable at any auto part store. Mike

Hey mike, how nice of you. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like those are pretty easy parts to get. Other than those parts, it seems all you need is the custom backing plate for mounting everything
