Just a few pics of the new J&I bed installed on one of these old '97s. This is gonna turn out pretty nice, I think... . Still needs a fuel tank, air comp, and a hoist built on the bale spikes. May get some paint in the near future, too.

:)

Looks good. I've moved many a bale with a bale spike like yours helping my brother feed hay in the winter. What's that green stuff on the gorund around the truck. . would that be green grass... in a drought?

Thanks, I'm excited about getting it into service. Sure will beat the '95 Powerjoke Dad's got now... .

That green came up after the last good rain. That yard hasn't been mowed since last year. Most of that is ryegrass, the coastal came on for a few days, and then frost settled in one morning, and it went dormant..... Luckily, the Ryegrass is strong enough, and the numbers are low enough, the cows have been putting on some weight before winter really settles in here. I've got enough hay for the winter, so we SHOULD be good, God willing... ... Feed's gone to over $500 a ton, so we're gonna feed more hay than feed, like we did last year. Another reason I'm glad to have this truck up and going! Wheat's up at my HQ, got what few calves I kept on it, and starting to put some wet cows on one of my bigger fields. Need another good rain to set the roots up fast and make it blade out. Then just pour the cattle out on it... . I hope..... It's been a long time and I was several feet shorter since I remember having this few cattle and such short grass in the pastures!!
