does anyone know why clutches lock and unlock often and rapidly???

Howdy J, Sounds like a question for Bill K or James N outa Dallas.

I had a PCM reflash and that cured mine shifting in & out of over drive, at 45 mph on flat land.

pcm reflash

There have been at least 6 different software up-grades to the 98. 5 pcm since it came out. Had mine done after upgrading my transmission and the dealer didn't charge me.

Just had My 1998. 5 reflashed for the erratic TC lockup problem...



Fixed the prob Better than new!!!!!!!!



Problem never arose when I lived in CT... .



Here In Oklahoma I found out that the expansion joints in the road come with their own ZIP CODES!!!!!!
