i just picked up a 96 Ext Cab, Long Bed, 180hp P-pump, 134k miles, 4wd, auto, body and interior is in great shape for $8250 out the door. white on top silver on bottom.

Well I picked up the truck Sunday. I'm amazed at how well a truck with 205k miles can preform. I commute up a canyon that gains 2000' elevation in about 14 miles. I barely had my foot in it and it just wanted to go. It's gonna take some getting used to a dually but this truck is sweet. The 2" leveler kit really makes it feel taller then it is, nerf bars are definitly in order for the wife and kids.

Thanks to everyone on TDR for all the positive reinforcement and what to look for about buying a 10 year old truck with 205k miles on it. I don't think I would have made this purchase with out it;)

sorry to steal the thread but it is the same topic.

i found a 98 quadcab short bed 4wd fully loaded without leather for $16k. it has 76k miles on it! super clean. compleatly stock. i have all of the above posts about people loving the truck. but in reality what does someone think a reasonable offer would be on the truck?

The truck I just picked up was booking at over $12,000 with 205k miles on it. Find out what book value is and if it's the truck you really want make an offer. In the end it's only worth what someone's willing to give him.

Be careful.

With diesel fuel approaching

5$/gal the value of our diesel trucks are dropping quickly.

Not a good sign, but a sign of the times.

Yea but it's not like gas isn't going up. I just can't believe I waited so long to buy this truck. I put up with a '92 f250 7. 5L gasser for so long, getting 10 mpg on a good day. I get excited every morning to drive my truck to work. :D

I bought my 97 ram for 7500 dollars in 2006. It had 185,000 on it. I love the truck... I was a senior in high school and let me tell you all the heads turned when they saw a dually burn out in the parking lot... . a 98 with that low of miles I would say well worth it... the blue book on mine now with 225,000 is worth a little over 11,000. Not to mention now I have that 7500 dollar ATS transmission, watercraft injection pump with injectors, and dynoed at 750 ft-lbs of torque. I love my truck!!!!

Enjoy, that is a very good rig. I bought mine in 03 with 52k on it and the stock tires and no hitch. It is a 98 12v 5 speed quad cab 4x4 dually. I really love that truck. it is stock but plan to do some up grades on it when I get time. It does have the 53 block, but no problems so far. it is normally my Daily driver and has served me well even here in Fairbanks. She has cussed many a morning @ -40 or -50 but has not failed to get me to work and back. Ok once or twice but only because I either forgot to plug in or had a power failure.
