In 1998; did Dodge build a quad cab, 4 X 4, newer dash like in my '99, with the 12 valve motor? I've heard this is so but I've never seen one.

Yes, I own one.

The dash looks like a 99, but the headlight switch is the old style.

I have a 5 speed, so it differs slightly from an auto dash... I think?

I believe the only difference is in the instrument cluster, where the auto selector is down on the right. . 98 was the only year that had the aux 12v output up on top, and the airbag/foglight switches down where the cubby is on the newer models. I have looked into getting the new style light switch, but have heard it is a booger to do... Go to my gallery if you would like to see what the 98-12 looks like...

Maybe I'll "invest" in one of these. I had a '97 12 valve and sure liked the way it ran, just didn't like the dash or the club cab configuration. Every time I see a '98 it's a 24valve. Thanks for the replies.

Lordsman, I bought mine down near you at AW Truck sales. They have '98's in there from time to time. Not sure if they're 12 valvers or not. I didn't know what I had when I bought it, but I have no complaints now.

I'm not affiliated with them, but here's their site: www.awtrucks.com.

They have their inventory on there. They keep a good selection and have some better prices at surrounding dealers.

The interior of my two '98's are IDENTICAL, except my 12V is not QC.

BTW,, My 12V even has the "small" brake pedal. :)

You mean a truck like this one... ... .

This is my 1998 Quad Sport 12 valve 5spd with all options(including power seat) except leather. You just have to love them... Andy

P. S. -The '01 mirrors I added later. Build date on mine was Dec 1997 and it came from St. Louis.

Hammer, I'm curious, I would'a thought your build date would be Dec. '97. I'm not sure when DC started rolling off the 24 valves, but I thought it was pretty early in '98. I'm also curious as to what digits it is in the VIN that tell where it was built. I don't want your vin, I've just always been a little curious where mine was built. That sport package is sweet!

When I found my Dad's almost perfect 98, 12v, quad cab I told him if he doesn't buy it I am going to have to figure out a way to own two trucks :) Too bad he bought it ;)

OK. .

So I had a minor brain fart here. Was up till way to late watching the "Muncie Sled Pull King" Sled Pullers videos after he arrived here till about 2am and when I was on this morning I had just gotten up and was not of sound mind. The correction was made... ... . Andy
