Got a 98 24 valve that very intermittently will not start. Got a test light across the lift pump wires when it would not start, and initially no voltage. After cycling the key and bumping starter 3-4 times, got a few voltage spikes and the pump would run during the spike. Couple more cycles, got good voltage, runs fine. Computer? Wiring? Anybody experienced this? Pump shows 14 psi idle, down to about 8 psi wot when running fine. Thanks

I had the same thing. Did you do anything to the fuel system before the problem started, such as change fuel filter, pump, install fuel pressure gauge? Sounds like you're getting air in your lines. Its normal for the pump not to run when you turn your key on. You need to turn your key off then bump the starter to make the pump run. Then the truck starts, right? If so, you're getting air in.
