2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 98 2X4 Brakes

Just replaced the ball joints & brakes

Truck does not stop like it should . Turned the rotors.

Wagner Thermo Quite Premium Disc brake Pads.



It stoped OK befour

I may have the wrong type of pads. some are harder than others would it be better to go to OEM pads or any sugestions. to get this thing to stop

I have done many brake jobs with no problems

This is a early 98 12V 2500 2X4

Did you bleed the brakes and got all the air out (maybe you didn't have to if you didn't open a bleeder)? The only other thing I can think of is did you lube up the caliper slides to prevent binding?

How hard were the ball joints to replace? I just noticed that the lower ball joints on my '98 had damaged boots. I cobble-repaired them using silicone sealant and injected some fresh grease with a needle grease gun, but will replace the ball joints next year before I get new tires. The truck still handles tight and the tread wear is even, so maybe I caught it in time.
