Has anyone actually weighed or have any info on the front axle load for this truck configuration ? I have the 4850 lb gawr and I'm afraid of overloading it with a new truck camper since the center of gravity points today are so far forward. Seems that they don't design truck campers for DRW's anymore.

Thanks,

Ron

I went over the scales with my 89 1 ton with a 1989 Lance, 10 1/2 ft, queen bed. that weighed 3,700 lbs. Front axle weighed 4,160. Rear axle weighed 6,540. The truck weight empty, front axle 4,020. Rear axle 2,960. Hope this helps.

Ron, the only differance between your truck and mine is the manual transmission that mine has. Mine weighed 4420lbs empty, front tires on the scales only.

Scaled truck in ST. Joseph, Mo @ Loves Truck Stop. Weighed twice becase scale was reading 7800lbs. QC,4x4,DRW,toolbox,stacks,bedliner,33 gallons, and me @ 160.

Real weights from scale

I weighed my truck after stripping it down in anticipation of picking up my camper. No tailgate, no bed liner, no hitch, no bed mat, no mud flaps, no one in truck. Truck was completely empty, with 31 gallons of diesel in the tank.

Front axle = 4240 lbs

Rear axle = 2800 lbs

Total = 7040 lbs

My weights correspond with Ron's... just weighed my '01 Cab & Chassis (single cab 3500 4x4) after installing a utility body that weighs 2,040 pounds.

Front axle: 4,200

Rear axle: 4,200

Looks like I have an ideal 50/50 weight distribution. . it handles like a Corvette :)
