Well my 16 Y/O son was coming home the other night and someone didn't stop at there stop sign hitting the driver side of my 98 24V Quad cab. It's been a pretty good truck normal stuff VP-44 transmission rebuild ball joints has 165K miles. So My ? is take the $ buy it back and part it out? And was thinking of getting an 06/07 but now am leaning for a new '11 what's the mileage like on the new trucks compared to my 5. 9? I know very little about the newer 6. 7 since I have never had 1. Thanks for any help... Mark

Oh boy - if you take some time to search the forum - you may find a post or two on mileage since the 98. 5 model! :)

In general terms the mileage of the 5. 9's = X..... and the mileage of the 6. 7's = X-2 (or 3).

I happy to get 13-14 unloaded, and towing my heavy TH 8-9 mpg. Granted I have only 4500 miles on it. The 6. 7 with the auto doesn't pull as hard until it has shifted into 4th. Your sig truck is alot like my old truck, it is night and day between the two.

Well It's not totaled came in a little lower than hoped. There giving me $5300 which I guess is good I get to keep my old truck I am going to get a new truck with the 5300 and use the 98 as a hauler/let my boys work on it. Now do I get an '11 off the lot or order a '12? anyone know the price difference between the 2. Thanks guys

Call Dave Smith, I got an email quote from them when I was shopping. The local dealer matched that price, which was almost $10k off sticker price.
