Do you ever get on CF (cummins forum)? I see in their classified ads people selling 5 and 6 spd conversions and once in a while someone will want to trade all their standard stuff for an auto setup. Just a suggestion if your looking to stay with a 2nd gen truck.
Also, are you selling that custom front bumper?

is cummins forum its own website? sorry, never heard of it, but ill check it out. Thought of the swap route but figured with changing ecms, driveshafts, etc, a lot of time and headache. The trans and everything else in the truck now is solid, just want to jam through the gears. I'd sell the bumper if I get into a 3rd gen. Thanks.

Google dodge cummins forum and look for the classified section, 2nd gen will have their own section. Im only registered as a guest there, dont really care to be anything more. But they are a pretty big site and they have a very large classifieds section, all for dodge cummins. Ive never looked into the extent of the swap, but I do see alot of people doing it over there. Theres also threads they made into stickies of all the work involved.
Not sure how close to Ohio you are, but Im right on the OH/PA border. Let me know if you decide to sell the bumper, I like the looks of it.

Darn nice 2nd gen. Not sure I'd let that one go, even for a manual trans truck. Best of luck with your sale.

I got on the site, registered as a guest, seemed confusing, dont like it near as much as tdr, but a lot of good resources to search in the future, thanks diesel4life. I am right on the md line, close to hagerstown. Thanks jgillott. I love the truck and get a lot of compliments on it and thought I'd never be selling it, but when I hear another cummins run through the gears... ... ... My dads got an 03 6 spd, man, that thing is sweet. wanted to buy his, he's never selling.
